Life on the Line Tour, Spring 1978 “This line-up soon put together a rip-roaring set of rock and roll standards, flavoured with boogie-woogie, blues, R&B, pop and soul - you name it. Simultaneously, they were trying out their own numbers about fixing up motorcycles, driving girls round the bend in big, beat-up old American Packards, climbing in and out of scrap-metal yards, going down the disco and getting so drunk you put on your girlfriends clothes, smash-up a few mirrors, go home - and write a song about how you feel.”
